2025-2026 Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness Application Release

GaDOE, in collaboration with the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, is releasing the application for the 2025-2026 Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness. Created as a recognition to commend schools going above and beyond to increase school safety and minimize risk factors, the Seal of Preparedness will be awarded to all schools who apply and meet specific safety planning criteria.

The window for applications is September 17 through November 17, 2025, and the Office of Whole Child Supports will host a webinar Friday, September 19 at 9:30 a.m. to provide more detailed information. If you miss the webinar, the recording will be shared soon.

Facility and School Registry Certification Closes September 26

The Facility and School Registry certification window opened September 8 and will close September 26, 2025. Each school district now has access to a certification page displaying red lights and green lights. When a district has all green lights, the superintendent may certify records to complete the certification process. Certification of FSR is required to participate in the October FTE count.

Important reminder: All principals must have logged into their MyGaDOE Portal account within the past 30 days. If a principal has not logged in within this timeframe, the school indicator will remain red, and the principal will appear as inactive. To resolve this issue, please have the principal log into their MyGaDOE Portal account. This action should update their status and convert the indicator to green.

Reminder: FY26 Title IX, Part A McKinney-Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth LEA Survey

GaDOE has an annual requirement to collect the number of homeless students enrolled and the educational support services provided by LEAs. All LEAs, regardless of receiving McKinney-Vento Program (MVP) funds or not, are required to submit this report. The LEA, typically the homeless liaison, will collect the required data, verify the information is correct, and complete the survey. Each LEA superintendent assures the accuracy of these data by making the final submission to GaDOE through the consolidated application approval process. Records supporting the requested data submitted in this survey must be maintained at the local level for five years or until any pending program audits are settled following the five-year period. The MVP Survey data collection form is available online by accessing the FY26 consolidated application.
