We have two additional updates for you this week – see below. Click here for the District Deadlines and To-Dos Dashboard.
Georgia Early Literacy and Dyslexia Reporting
There are four areas of the Georgia Early Literacy and Dyslexia Act reporting that must be completed by August 1, 2025 in the MyGaDOE Portal. Schools that serve K-3rd grade students must report high-quality instructional materials, professional learning, information on students with characteristics of dyslexia, and certification that the Dyslexia Handbook has been distributed by electronic means to all personnel. This year’s reporting requires school-level reporting (principal), with districts (superintendents and curriculum directors) having editing and approval rights to all school-submitted data. Professional learning data and characteristics of dyslexia data represent information from the 2024-25 school year. Please see the user guides linked below for detailed instructions.

GaDOE Migration to GA@Work Accounting Software
The information below was shared with your Finance Officers this morning and is included here for your awareness.
The State of Georgia is migrating to new accounting software on October 1, 2025. This migration affects GaDOE’s ability to effectively process grant payments submitted through the Grants Accounting Online System (GAORS). Due to this change, we are limiting the amount of reimbursement payments we will process during the initial months. Starting in October, we will only pull grant reimbursement requests once per month. This will require planning on each subrecipient’s part to ensure estimated cash flows are considered, as well as the timing of drawdown submissions and completion reports, which are due October 30.
GaDOE Financial Review is hosting a series of webinars to provide information on the revised payment schedule and the adjustments needed at both the state and subrecipient levels, and provide an opportunity to ask questions. We encourage both financial and federal programs staff to attend, as it will be critical for both departments to work together to ensure reimbursement requests are accurate and meet the immediate needs of the programs.

These must be evidence-based programs that support student learning and address nonacademic challenges.
