Data Cleaning and Preparation
Data are received annually from the centralized education agency of participating states as well as the National Center for Education Statistics. The data are integrated into a private, specialized data mart and optimized for these data dashboards. Student enrollment counts have been suppressed at the Course level, in accordance with state policy; non-zero student counts under 10 are displayed as 0.
Student counts in these dashboards are the total of all students enrolled throughout the school year. As a result, students are counted within each school and/or district within which they were enrolled. This differs from Full Time Equivalent (FTE) enrollment counts, which are point-in-time counts where students are only attributed to the school and district in which they were enrolled on a specific date.
