Clean Water for Georgia Kids™: Free Testing Available

Schools across the state are testing their drinking water for lead. Make sure yours are on the list! Enroll today in GaDOE’s free lead testing program.

McKinney-Vento Program Continuation Application

The FY27 McKinney-Vento Program (MVP) Continuation Application is now available. Districts currently receiving MVP grant funds are required to complete the continuation application and appending budget summary by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The MVP Continuation Application link and instructions will be emailed to current MVP grant subrecipient liaisons.

2024 LEA Poverty and Population Challenge Period with the Census Bureau

The Census Bureau is providing a challenge period for LEAs to review the 2024 LEA poverty and population data for non-statistical errors. The U.S. Department of Education uses the 2024 Census data to calculate FY26 (SY2026-27) Title I, Part A state allocations, which are used to calculate the Title I LEA allocations.

FY27 Perkins V Plus Reserve Grant Application Now Open

The FY27 Perkins V Plus Reserve grant supplements the CTAE resources of eligible recipients receiving Perkins funds in rural areas, areas with high percentages of career and technical education students, areas with high numbers of career and technical education students, and areas with disparities or gaps in performance. There are six options for the use of funds. The maximum grant award is $25,000, dependent upon the option selected and CTAE FTEs. Georgia LEAs currently receiving Perkins V Program Improvement funds are eligible to apply.

America250 Read 250 Books Certificate

GaDOE’s calendar of celebrations for districts and schools to celebrate the U.S. Semiquincentennial includes a suggestion for schools to collectively read 250 books (picture books count!) reflecting the spirit of America. GaDOE is providing customizable certificate templates for school use, allowing them to recognize students for contributing to the accomplishment of 250 books read.
