June 22, 2026 – Superintendents

Below are your weekly updates and reminders from the Georgia Department of Education. Here are your links to the District Deadlines and To-Dos Dashboard and the Digest Archive.

Submit Your Count of First-Year Teachers by July 6

For the second year, GaDOE plans to send a small welcome package to each first-year teacher in your district as part of the Teach in the Peach initiative. These packages will be mailed directly to you for local distribution and are intentionally light and easy to store.

To help us plan, please share a rough estimate of how many teachers in your district will be in their first year teaching in any district this school year. An exact count is not necessary – a general estimate will be sufficient. Please respond by July 6, 2026.

Thank you for helping us welcome and celebrate the newest members of Georgia’s education family!

Impact of Delayed District Data Submission on GaDOE Programs and Applications

Due to district data reporting delays relating to the Canvas outage in April and May, GaDOE is postponing the opening of GUIDE, Student Class, and the Data Collection Survey for the 2026-27 school year. The plan is to open these applications on July 8, 2026. During the delay, districts will not have access to school rosters in My Georgia Insights (previously known as SLDS) and will not be able to generate GTIDs for new students or claim transfer students.

Additionally, the delay in reporting of Student Class data will impact the following programs and applications. Once the data are made available, affected programs and applications will return to normal.

  • PSC In-Field application
  • CCRPI data received via State Reporting
  • CTAE Perkins V and EOPA reports
  • Facilities application
  • Ad hoc data requests involving Student Class data

Please utilize the contact information below if you have any questions or concerns.
