Reminder: Teacher Policy Fellowship Application Open – Share with Your Teachers

Applications are open for GaDOE’s Teacher Policy Fellowship (TPF), a unique professional learning opportunity designed to introduce classroom teachers to public education policy and policymaking. During this nine-month program, fellows will gain knowledge and information on policy design and implementation through seminars, conversations, and projects. The TPF uses a blended virtual and face-to-face learning approach so Fellows can continue teaching in their classrooms.

Reminder: RISE Award Nomination Window

Don’t miss the opportunity to honor the unsung heroes in your district or school! The nomination window for the 2025 Georgia RISE Award is open through September 30. District superintendents and principals may nominate a full- or part-time classified school employee who provides exemplary service to students in pre-kindergarten through high school.

Eligible classified employees include those in the following job categories:

  • Clerical and Administrative Services
  • Custodial and Maintenance Services
  • Food and Nutrition Services
  • Health and Student Services
  • Paraprofessional
  • Security Services
  • Skilled Trades
  • Technical Services
  • Transportation Services

Submit your district or school’s nominations today to ensure these outstanding employees receive the recognition they deserve!

Georgia Early Literacy and Dyslexia Universal Screening Reporting

The first deadline for K-3 universal reading and dyslexia screening is October 1. The application is now live in the MyGaDOE Portal. Data are reported at the school level and approved at the district level.
